How to change your choices

On public pages, use the cookie banner or Cookie settings button to allow or reject optional analytics. When signed in, open Dashboard Settings to manage cookie choices. You can also change the preference or clear cookies through your browser.

Error diagnostics

Sentry receives technical error reports to help us repair faults. It does not use session replay or advertising tracking in Examo. These operational diagnostics are separate from the optional analytics preference. See our Privacy Policy for the data categories, safeguards, and your rights.

What is stored, and where

A cookie is a small value that a website asks your browser to store and return with later requests. Examo also uses comparable first-party browser storage for choices such as cookie consent and referral attribution. Some values last only for the current browser session; others remain until they expire, are replaced, or you remove them. Clearing site data can sign you out, remove saved preferences, and end referral attribution that has not yet been attached to an account.

Essential values are limited to operating and protecting the service. They can identify a session or account, but they are not used to build an advertising profile. Referral attribution records the Examo referral code or shared-course source needed to validate eligibility; it does not load a third-party advertising pixel.

What happens when analytics are disabled

Rejecting analytics does not block account creation, course access, study tools, checkout, or support. The optional analytics script is not loaded, and Examo continues using only the storage required for security, authentication, payments, preferences, and the first-party referral programme. If you later re-enable analytics, collection resumes from that point; the earlier disabled period is not collected retroactively.

Browser-level blocking or automatic deletion may override the choice saved inside Examo. Private-browsing modes and some privacy extensions can also remove storage when a window closes. If a required value is unavailable, you may need to sign in again or repeat a preference, but optional analytics remains optional.

Browser controls and account settings do different jobs

Deleting browser storage removes values held on that device; it does not delete an Examo account, cancel a paid subscription, erase server-side course data, or complete a privacy request. Use Dashboard Settings for account and billing controls, and contact Examo when a verified data-rights request is required. If you use more than one browser or device, each can hold its own cookie choice, so you may need to repeat the preference.

Blocking every cookie can prevent sign-in and other protected workflows because the browser cannot return the security value that connects one request to the next. You can still reject optional analytics without disabling the essential storage needed to operate the service safely.

Cookie names, expiry periods, and providers can change when the service or a security dependency changes. The categories and purposes on this page describe the controlling use. If Examo introduces a new optional purpose, it must remain off until the relevant consent is obtained.
